Wildfire Ceramic Studio invites you to apply to Dinner Party! We are excited to have Gabs Conway jury this exhibit showcasing the variety of functional table pieces. All forms of table pieces are welcome (plates, utensils, accoutrements, platters, butter dishes, etc.) Conway encourages artists to make in sets of two or more.

TIMELINE

 

  • Entry deadline:                  July 10 (by midnight)

  • Delivery of artwork:           Aug 1-15th      

  • Opening Reception:         Sept 5, 5-9pm               

 

 

GENERAL RULES

​

  • Minimum of 1 set of two pieces. A set means two items matching in style and/or form. For example, a plate and a bowl decorated to match could be a set, as could two matching candlesticks or any other two similarly decorated forms

  • Application fee is $15 and non-refundable. 

  • Each submission must be:

  1. No greater than 24" in any dimension

  2. Functional

  3. For sale

  4. Priced less than $1500

  5. Ready-to-hang/display

  • The gallery retains 50% commission on work that is sold

  • The artist is responsible for the cost of return shipping for unsold items.

  • Please fully read the following instructions. Applications that do not follow the guidelines will not be considered.

  • We are currently only accepting work shipped within the USA.

  • If accepted, the exact piece(s) submitted must be sent.

  • Do not contact the juror directly. Email wildfireceramicstudiogallery@gmail.com with any questions/concerns.

HOW TO ENTER

Read this whole page! Then, click on the "Apply" button, fill out all of the information for each piece and attach an image of each piece.

 

Digital images must be:

  1. In .jpeg format

  2. In file name format: jdoe_title_1, jdoe_title_2, jdoe_title_ 3 etc.

All entries with images that do not follow this format OR appear to have been enhanced will be disqualified. No videos will be accepted.

 

OK! NOW WHAT? 

Check your email for confirmation that your entry was received. Please email wildfireceramicstudiogallery@gmail.com if you do not receive a confirmation email within 24hrs. 

 

Entry does not guarantee acceptance, but we will email jurying results to all artists. Jurying will take place throughout the following week after the submission deadline. Be sure to also check your spam folder for our emails.

If your work is selected, follow the instructions below and in your email:

​

  1. Read and fill-out the Guest Artist Contract (link will be in the acceptance email)

  2. Print the Inventory Tracking Slip (also in email) and include it in your box with your work.

  3. Label each piece with its corresponding Wildfire SKU (see the Inventory Tracking Slip)

  4. Insure your work (optional but highly recommended). WCS does not hold any liability for work stolen or broken during shipping.

  5. If shipping, include a return label or signed blank check for return shipping. A blank check means a check made out to Wildfire Ceramic Studio with a signature, but no price or date. See here for example of a blank check. Work without one of these will be charged a $5 processing fee. Any unsold artwork that does not have a payment for return shipping will become the property of WCS 90 days after the end of the exhibition. 

  6. Ship it to our PO Box (below) in time to arrive by the deadline above. See our note below about shipping!

SHIPPING

We highly recommend that you insure your work if shipping. The artist is responsible for safe delivery and shipping costs. Pack your pieces well, always double box. Damaged artworks will not be included in the exhibition.

Gabs Conway is a sculptural ceramic artist based in Missoula Montana. She grew up throwing and sculpting alongside her father while he studied ceramics in Mankato, Minnesota. In May of 2021, she earned her BFA, with a concentration in ceramics at the University of Wisconsin - Stout. Now, a full time artist and educator. In her personal work, she is curious about pushing the boundaries of clay. Stemming from the playful, mundane experiences of living and intrigued by familiarity in the unusual, she explores relationships and community.
